Celebrating Women's Entrepreneurship Day

Each year on November 19, communities around the world come together for Women's Entrepreneurship Day. This day recognizes the achievements of women in business and advocates for greater support for women entrepreneurs. At the Telfer Competitions Committee (TCCT), this day resonates deeply with our mission of empowering students to lead, innovate and create meaningful impact.

Why Women's Entrepreneurship Matters

Women entrepreneurs fuel innovation and strengthen communities yet often face systemic barriers. Of the top publicly traded companies in Canada, only ~4% have female CEO's. Women in business experience limited access to funding, underrepresentation in leadership roles and systemic bias. Women's Entrepreneurship Day allows us to draw visibility towards these challenges and work towards a more equitable society for the future generation of female leaders.

How we can Champion Inclusion and Representation

Supporting women in entrepreneurship begins with building environments where everyone feels empowered to take risks, test ideas, and be heard.

At TCCT, we are committed to:

Join us in setting actionable goals to champion inclusion and representation

Women's Entrepreneurship Day is both a celebration and reminder of the work ahead. By continuing to uplift women's voices, challenge inequities, and foster environments where all ideas are welcomes, we can help build a stronger and more inclusive setting.

Happy Women's Entrepreneurship Day from the Telfer Competitions Committee
